Networking for Good is the brainchild of Eddie Fam of IMPACT Marketing & Events. Eddie launched Networking for Good in response to the lack of affordable and effective networking opportunities that also support important causes in Washington DC and Northern Virginia.
As a business owner, Eddie knows very well how crucial networking is to growing and developing business relationships, but wondered if there wasn’t also a way to do something useful and “give back” at the same time.
Yianni Papadopoulos of creativeHunger and Jermane Thomas of Everwireless Media came on board to offer their time and expertise in support of this worthy endeavor, and the Networking For Good team was complete.
Eddie is the founder and owner of IMPACT Marketing & Events, a full service company based near Washington DC that specializes in special event planning, nationwide and destination weddings, conference planning, networking events, marketing campaigns, public relations, corporate event marketing, and charity fundraising events.
In 2001, Eddie helped coordinate a fundraising campaign for Coptic Orphans that generated over $1.2 million dollars to help break the cycle of poverty. In 2005, Eddie was selected for Bono’s ONE Campaign to serve as a U.S. delegate to help promote the “Commission for Africa” which increased global funding to the world’s poorest people by $50 billion.
Fam has been involved with events and campaigns that included General Colin Powell, dignitaries and ambassadors, and celebrities such as Sir Richard Branson, Maroon 5, Quincy Jones, Denzel Washington, Will Smith, and Dave Matthews Band.
Eddie has served in various event planning and marketing board member and committee roles for BNI NOVA; is a Co-Chair for the Community Engagement Committee of the Reston Chamber of Commerce; and serves as the Vice President of the Marketing and Communications committee on the Board of Directors for International Special Events Society in Washington, DC, the largest nationwide chapter, where IMPACT won two Capital Awards in 2012 for event planning for non-profit fundraisers. Currently IMPACT is nominated for an International Espirit Award at Event World in Dallas, Texas.
